Invasive Species Workday
Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park
Saturday, 11/21 at 10:30am-1:00pm
Free | RSVP Required
Guests Welcome
Overview: Invasive species are one of the leading causes of habitat loss. The state of Florida’s invasive plant and animal infestations will require effort from both the private and public sectors to see true change due to the scope of the issue. This event will bring awareness to the significance of native plant restoration, invasive plant management, and fostering relationships that may grow into future partnerships.
We will be hand pulling the following invasive species:
Rose Natal (Melinis repens)
Rattlebox species (Crotalaria - mostly spectabilis and pallida)
What to Bring:
Lunch, reusable water bottle, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, hat, long pants, closed-toed shoes (we have sandspurs in these areas), and gloves. (Optional: picnicking materials- camp chairs, blankets, etc. as lunch will be in the field.)
